The Director, Design Engineer is a hybrid role that blends product design expertise with strong front-end development skills to create seamless, efficient, and innovative digital experiences. Reporting to the VP of Product Design, this individual will collaborate with various product teams to craft high-quality web application interfaces that meet user needs, technical specifications, and business objectives.

• A highly skilled web application designer with expertise in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. • Experienced in designing and implementing intuitive, responsive user interfaces while ensuring accessibility, usability, and cross-platform compatibility. • Proficient in design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with the ability to bridge the gap between design and front-end implementation. • Familiar with prototyping tools such as Webflow, Framer, and AI-enhanced no-code platforms. • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a passion for delivering polished, high-quality solutions that balance user experience and business goals. • A strong communicator and team player who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive alignment and deliver exceptional products. • Passionate about emerging trends in web design, front-end development, and best practices in accessibility.

📑    What the job involves

• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and developers to create user-centered web application designs that align with business goals and technical requirements. • Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and workflows. • Implement accessibility and usability best practices to ensure that web applications are inclusive and user-friendly. • Build and maintain high-quality, production-ready web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks. • Work with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with APIs and backend services. • Ensure optimal performance, responsiveness, and cross-platform compatibility of web applications. • Act as a bridge between design and development teams to maintain visual and functional consistency across products. • Contribute to and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides for scalable product development. • Participate in code reviews, user research, and usability testing to improve design and functionality iteratively. • Stay up-to-date with new trends, tools, and best practices in web design, front-end development, and accessibility standards.
