Ebury is seeking a Java Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is based in London and follows a hybrid model, requiring four days in the office and one day working from home. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development, testing, debugging, and integration of software, focusing on Java and Groovy technologies. The position is suited for professionals who enjoy collaborative development and have expertise in Agile methodologies.
• Proven experience with Object-Oriented programming, especially in Java and/or Groovy. • Familiarity with major Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like IntelliJ or Eclipse. • Understanding and experience with continuous integration in software development. • Strong background in unit and integration testing to maintain software quality. • Ability to develop and optimize services designed for the Java platform. • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with server-side debugging and performance optimization. • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML5 and CSS.
• Develop and implement unit and integration tests using standard Java frameworks to maintain code quality. • Debug applications utilizing log files and relevant debugging tools within IDEs. • Establish and manage a structured source control process for application code. • Generate and edit JSON and XML data files using standard Java objects as per application requirements. • Architect scalable and reusable service solutions to reduce maintenance efforts. • Work closely with form developers to determine integration points. • Deploy and configure Avoka Exchange components in production environments. • Create and review JavaDocs to enhance project documentation and team collaboration.
