Working closely with suppliers, purchasing teams, and production staff, the Packaging Developer will be responsible for generating new ideas, ensuring feasibility in real-world production environments, and championing sustainability in packaging. This role involves both creative and technical expertise, requiring strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to packaging development.
• A packaging professional with a minimum of two years' experience in the food packaging industry. • Creative thinker with a strong eye for color, graphic design, and innovative concepts. • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Illustrator, Adobe Suite, or similar tools is highly desirable. • Knowledgeable in at least one food packaging substrate, such as carton board, flexible films, or thermoform. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and customers. • Hands-on approach to packaging development, capable of creating mock-ups and providing detailed briefs to suppliers.
• Collaborate with packaging suppliers to develop fresh and innovative packaging ideas, giving Greencore a competitive edge. • Transform conceptual designs into practical and commercially viable packaging solutions. • Work with the Group Purchasing team to integrate cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. • Test and assess the feasibility of packaging designs in real-world production environments. • Stay informed about sustainability trends and incorporate eco-friendly packaging solutions into new designs. • Participate in customer product submissions, presenting proposals with compelling graphical mock-ups. • Support factory trials by collaborating with production teams to refine and perfect packaging designs for optimal performance.
