We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our Investment Accounting / Positions team, based in London or Newport Beach, CA. This role involves developing software solutions both on-prem and in the cloud to capture trading transactions and calculate positions for the firm. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with our hedge fund business and contribute to building the next-generation IBOR in AWS.

• You are an expert Java developer with extensive experience in AWS. • You enjoy tackling complex, real-world business problems and believe in cross-functional collaboration. • You embrace continuous learning and understand the importance of knowledge sharing. • You have experience working with multiple programming languages such as Python and TypeScript. • You have a strong analytical ability to understand and reverse-engineer code. • You are both an independent worker and an effective team player, capable of mentoring others.

📑    What the job involves

• Develop and maintain high-performance Java applications for investment accounting and positions. • Work on both legacy systems and modern cloud-native applications on AWS. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hedge fund business stakeholders and global development teams. • Implement and maintain real-time messaging systems such as Kafka. • Leverage expertise in Apache Flink for streaming data processing. • Design and optimize SQL queries for financial data analysis. • Participate in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes using Gitlab. • Provide Level 2 support as required to ensure system reliability and stability.
